In life, we often encounter challenges that test our resolve, our resilience, and our very spirit. For me, that challenge manifested as a significant injury at work on July 18th, 2022. As a seasoned nurse with over 45 years of experience, the idea of being sidelined by injury was inconceivable. Yet, life had other plans.
The events leading up to my injury were unfortunately all too familiar in today's healthcare landscape – chronic understaffing, unmanageable workloads, and the relentless demands of patient care. Despite the warning signs of exhaustion and discomfort, I soldiered on, pushing my limits until my body could take no more. Thus began a journey of recovery marked by pain, frustration, and a profound absence of support.
